2010 Summer Combat Scores

The winter Combat season is finally over.  Final Scores are attached.  Congratulations to William Drumm (again) for being the top scoring pilot of the season.  Thanks to all who participated during the nasty days of winter.  Had a few weeks where we got scrubbed due to the weather, but overall it was a tolerable winter.

The summer session will begin an Thursday, April 14th at 5:30 pm.  If the field is open we'll fly there, otherwise we'll continue to use the Bins Court cul-de-sac until the field dries out.  The Summer schedule is also attached to help you plan your missions.

There will be some changes starting this session.  Many of us will start flying our 'Willie Wings'.  I don't know if we will fly with the Spads or start a new 'class' just for the bigger wings.  We'll do whatever the majority of the pilots are happiest with.  Our 3-2-1 scoring system will probably go away in favor of the something more in line with the official scoring system for R/C Combat.  For our 'Club Combat' we'll probably end up with a simplified version of the official format.  It's a work in progress.

Note of interest: Member Keith Elkins showed up today and test flew an electric SSC (Willie Wing).  He had to set his radio at 67% max throttle to keep the rpm's at 17500. It needed a little C/G adjustment but otherwise seemed to fly OK.  I'm sure Keith will be happy to share the specs with anyone interested in trying electric.

A few days left to buy those Magnum .15XLS engine from HobbyPeople.net for $40.

Until the next dog-fight,
